Fall Festivals in Dallas-Fort Worth for October 2026

Once the heat breaks, every city in the Metroplex throws a party. This list covers the Oktoberfests and fall festivals still ahead this October, in date order. Most are free to get in, so you only pay for food and drinks.
Frisco Oktoberfest

Held on the field at the Cowboys' headquarters, with wiener dog races, stein-holding contests, live music and a kids zone with animals and face painting.
Celina Oktoberfest

A small-town Oktoberfest with folk dancing, a dachshund dash, keg rolling and a brat-eating contest.
River Legacy Fall Festival

A nature-focused fall day that raises money for the River Legacy nature center. Good for kids who would rather be outside than in a crowd. Official site
Fall Into Flower Mound

A two-day festival with a hay maze, carnival games, a pumpkin garden for family photos and live music along the River Walk.
Grapevine PumpkinFest

Ten days of pumpkins and fall activities on Grapevine Lake. It's a good pairing with a stop in downtown Grapevine. Official site
Oktoberfest Southlake

The 25th year of one of the biggest three-day festivals in the area, with three music stages, arts and crafts booths and the wiener dog races. Official site
DFW Fall Fest

Characters, craft stations, kid-friendly shows and local vendors under the market pavilion. Unlike some festivals, the activities are free too. Official site
Plano International Festival

Food, music and dance from around the world. Kids get a festival passport to stamp at each cultural booth.
Day of the Dead Festival

Denton calls itself the Halloween capital of Texas, and this is why. Expect coffin races, a lantern-lit twilight parade and trunk-or-treating.
Oktoberfest Dallas

Local bands, brats and beer on the hill north of White Rock Lake, with a kids area. Pre-sale closes the Friday before. Official site

Halloween takes over downtown, with trick-or-treating, a blackout maze, fire and circus performers and carnival rides.
Before you head out
- Park once and walk. Town-square festivals fill the close lots by late morning. Check the host's page for garage and shuttle info.
- Bring a small bag. Bigger festivals check bags at the gate.
- Check the weather the morning of. Outdoor events move or cancel for storms.
